Lyndons are planning on setting up a specialist unit on digital media and coding for the arts. Our charity is moving with the times as coding is now a part of the school curriculum. A small office off-site has previously been used for this with the European Erasmus students.
Lyndons has also been drawing up plans to develop a new site and we are currently in contact with specialist builders and architects. With a new space, our charity hopes to have a similar size workshop with kilns to continue the programme we already run at Malorees Junior School. We have started to raise funds for the IT centre, which was originally planned for the room next to our current workshop.
The world traders have donated £5k for the Erasmus students from Europe, who have been coming to the school for the scheme. The children have benefitted greatly. Their structure would involve them using the IT centre and the workshop, as well as taking part in the outreach programme. We need to emphasise our need to raise funds to support our programme and without the involvement of the community, funders would not contribute.
At this moment in time, we are creating art work with the school children of Malorees, for an exhibition at the children’s library!
